Frequently asked questions
Does the power need to be off?
No — the opposite. The board must be live and under load for the scan to be meaningful, so there is no outage and no disruption to the site.
How often should switchboards be scanned?
Annually is the common interval for commercial sites, and it is what we build into a scheduled maintenance agreement. Sites with heavy or variable load may warrant more frequent scanning.
What do we actually receive?
A report with a thermal image of each finding, the temperature rise measured, a severity rating and a recommendation. Not just a pass or fail.
